Apparently July according to some weirdo some where is 'hot dog' month. And because there's been a hot dog vender out side of my theater for almost 2 months I thought I'd share some facts about the ' food ' that I had a few times. Not nearly as much as one of my coworkers who's had one almost everyday he's worked on this show. 65 hot dogs once a day 6 days a week.
Frankfurt , Germany claims that they originated the wiener , and the word wiener refers to Vienna, Austria, 'Wien' .
It has been called 'dog' since around 1884 , when sausage makers used dog grade meat to make them. However Wikipedia says "dog meat" which is uh....different then dog grade....(could it be true???)
Most are made of meat slurry which is liquid meat with paprika, salt, garlic. Then they are smoked and cured.
